Ruth paints mainly with oils on canvas in her studio, in Wirksworth. Using sketches and photographs from her walks in Derbyshire where she lives, she takes inspiration from nature, the ancient dales and woodlands and the ever changing skies. The mystery that glimmers through the natural world influences her art; she paints to express meaning and emotion.
