This is a two day course (4/5 hours each Sunday) - all materials and tools are provided.
You'll be tutored by Mark Elmore, an experienced chairmaker. You'll make yourself a stool to cherish for life. The workshop is suitable for beginners or more experienced woodworkers. The timber used is all locally grown hardwoods.
Starting from a freshly felled green log you'll split and shape your parts using traditional hand tools. During the sessions we'll discuss simple joinery, how to use the strength of a tree to make furniture that will last generations, and tools like the axe, drawknife and brace drill.
